The Google N-Gram Viewer creates an n-gram based on your prompt from the corpus of texts made readable by Google Books and shows the frequency of a term or phrase over time in published books. To get an idea of how to use the N-Gram viewer, follow <a href=\"https:\/\/infoguides.gmu.edu\/textanalysistools\/ngram\">GMU&#8217;s instructions here<\/a>. Using the Google N-Gram Viewer, create an n-gram about a term, phrase or group of terms\/phrases relating to your research topic and write a blog post that contains the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Description:<\/strong> A picture is worth a thousand words, but you need to write them any way. What term or terms did you use to create your n-gram? Why did you choose it\/them? How does it relate to your research? You may need to play with the N-Gram Viewer for a bit to find an output that is interesting. Did you try any other terms that didn&#8217;t yield good results? Include them in your blog post if you did. If you used multiple terms to make a comparison, why did you choose those specific terms for this comparison?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Analysis:<\/strong> What does your n-gram show? How does your n-gram represent change over time? Are there any spikes or dips that surprise you? What do you think they might mean? (Feel free to google around to make sense of your n-gram like we did with our in-class example. If you do so, however, remember to cite your sources!) If you are comparing more than one term, what does your comparison reveal? Be specific and detailed. Show me that you&#8217;ve done some thinking and analyzed your n-gram fully.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sure to include a screenshot of your n-gram!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your blog post should be 2-3 paragraphs long.
